With the Kawasaki Z900RS, the company approached the retro bike segment. As the name suggests, the Kawasaki Z900RS is based on the Z900 and takes inspiration from the Z1 with some modern touches. The Kawasaki Z900RS shares its engine with the Z900 however, the motor has been tuned to offer lower power and higher torque in order to suit the characteristics of a retro bike. In order to be precise, the engine on the Kawasaki Z900RS is good for developing respective power and torque outputs of 111 bhp and 99 Nm. The bike gets a traction control system, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and a slipper clutch. The Kawasaki Z900RS is currently on sale in India at a price of Rs 15.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

    The Kawasaki Z900RS is based on a pure retro motorcycle theme that looks evident in its styling. The front end of the Kawasaki Z900RS gets a rounded headlamp and the overall body has fair number of curves just like a regular retro classic bike. The single seat and a dual tone paint scheme are the elements that contribute more to the bike's retro character.

    The riding position on the Kawasaki Z900RS is comfortable which is a boon for a long distance riding. The wide handlebar and footpegs that are set neither too forward nor too backward offers a relaxed position to the rider.     The Kawasaki Z900RS gets power from a 948cc, four cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is good for churning out respective power and torque outputs of 111 hp and 99 Nm. This is the same engine that powers the Z900 but has been retuned for the Z900RS.

    The transmission on the Kawasaki Z900RS is a six-speed unit. The gearbox has a one-down and five-up shifting pattern like almost every other bike having a six-speed gearbox.

    Kawasaki Z900RS comes to a halt with the help of dual 300mm disc brakes up front along with a single 250mm disc brake at the rear. A dual channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) comes as standard with the motorcycle for added safety and convenience.

    The Kawasaki Z900RS returns a fuel economy of close to 12 kmpl. The bike comes with a 17-litre fuel tank and with that being said, the bike offers a range of close to 200 km once you go for a full top up.
